Frequently Asked Questions

The color/size of the product may be slightly different from the one in the listing's picture due to different monitor settings and/or different plating process or different vendor's manufacturing machine.

Plating Color is different as pictured, not actually an intensity of color. A color difference will not be considered a defect.

The fingerpick packs have all been straightened and organized by hand. Bulk packages may be bent. If you want all straight head pins, please purchase the fingerpick option.

We try our best to update our listings to the closest inch and gauge unit for customers based in countries, such as the United States, using the Imperial Measurement System.

Please use the following measurements as a general guide to understand the size approximations:
26gauge = about 0.4mm
24gauge = about 0.5mm
22gauge = about 0.6mm
21gauge = about 0.7mm
20gauge = about 0.8mm
18gauge = about 1.0mm, etc.

The link size of the chain/material size of findings stated on listings only refers to the width and length; it is not an exact number. At the time of manufacturing, the metric system uniformly sized items.

Every inch unit is an estimate of the Int'l Standard Unit, mm. Using the Imperial Measurement System, we try our best to update our listings to the closest inch and gauge unit.

We do not supply parts and pieces that are precise enough to go into satellites or other delicate machinery. In addition, the size of the parts we supply may have an error rate of about +/-5%.

If you are seeking a product with a precise measurement or would like to know the exact measurement of a product, please make sure to contact us before purchasing.

Tarnishing is quite normal, especially for gold plated and silver plated items. Most chains are plated; the only types of chain that will not tarnish are gold-fill and sterling silver (silver does tarnish, but it can be easily cleaned off).

The longevity of the chain's quality depends on how the chain is worn and the maintenance of it.

Electroplated chains tarnish rapidly under both hot and humid conditions. Any moisture (e.g. water, sweat) will further the oxidation process.

The chain will tarnish, but depending on how well it is handled, the original quality can last from one day to even a year.

If this is a major concern, please not purchase plated chain/findings, gold-fill and sterling silver chains are a good, but pricier alternative.

Items labeled "AT" aka "Anti tarnish" or "ATC" aka "Anti tarnish coating" have undergone a special manufacturing process that significantly reduces the oxidative speed of any gold/silver/copper plated items. These products can last years, depending on handling and environmental conditions. Any moisture (e.g. water, sweat, salt) will accelerate the oxidation process, which means it can still change color.

While it is true that stainless steel typically contains some level of iron, which can exhibit magnetic properties, it's important to note that not all stainless steel is magnetic. In fact, stainless steel is known for its non-magnetic properties in many cases.

It's worth mentioning that the magnetic response of stainless steel can vary depending on factors such as its specific alloy composition and processing methods. While some stainless steel alloys may exhibit slight magnetic attraction, it is typically much less pronounced compared to iron-based steels.

Therefore, while the presence of magnetic attraction can sometimes indicate the presence of iron in stainless steel, it is not a definitive confirmation of its composition. Stainless steel is primarily valued for its corrosion resistance, durability, and aesthetic properties, rather than its magnetic behavior.

At GemPlus24, we aim to provide our customers with quality products and transparent information to ensure a satisfying shopping experience. This policy is designed to inform our valued customers about the nature of unsoldered link chains and the importance of understanding their limitations.

Understanding Unsoldered Link Chains:

Unsoldered link chains are a cost-effective option for those seeking a versatile jewelry accessory. However, it's crucial to recognize that unsoldered link chains are inherently different from soldered chains in terms of strength and durability.

Limitations of Unsoldered Link Chains:

Unsoldered link chains consist of individual links that are not permanently fused together. As a result, these chains may be more prone to breakage when subjected to excessive force, such as pulling or hanging pendants or heavy objects.

Our Recommendation:

While unsoldered link chains offer affordability and flexibility, they may not be suitable for all applications, especially those requiring a strong and secure connection. If you intend to use your chain for heavy pendants or require maximum durability, we highly recommend considering our selection of soldered link chains.

Customer Awareness:

We want our customers to make informed decisions when purchasing jewelry from GemPlus24. Please be aware that the breaking of an unsoldered link chain under stress or force does not constitute a defect or problem with the chain itself. It is simply a characteristic of its design and construction.

Our Commitment:

At GemPlus24, we are committed to providing honest and transparent information about our products. If you have any questions or concerns regarding our unsoldered link chains or any other jewelry items, please don't hesitate to contact our customer service team. We are here to assist you in finding the perfect jewelry solution for your needs.
